The West Central Valley baseball season ended last week. Let’s take a look at the 2021 season by the numbers.
WCV continued to show improvement in their game from last season. The shortened 2020 season was difficult for the team but especially in the pitching department. As a team the bullpen had an ERA of 17.23. However the bullpen stepped up in 2021, bumping that number down to 8.01. That’s in part due to the pitching of Senior Owen Harwood. In his eight starts for the team he had a 3-5 with a 3.13 ERA. He also had 44 strikeouts. That would put the team total up to 140, a huge improvement from the 27 strikeouts in 2020.
With Harwood graduating, it’s likely that Sophomore Kaedon Lindsay will be the starter for the 2022 campaign. He’ll look to build on the solid foundation laid this season.
