As part of the ongoing repairs to the Raccoon Valley Radio towers in Perry, one radio signal will experience an outage today.

Raccoon Valley Radio General Manager John McGee says the tower project today should begin at approximately 8 a.m. and will have KDLS 1310 AM offline for approximately five to six hours. The work will consist of lifting the west tower off the ground and replacing an insulator that was damaged during last year’s derecho.

McGee says the hopes are to have the work done by noon, but there is the potential for more intermittent outages for 1310 AM throughout the day today. As a reminder this project is slated to last roughly three to four weeks and could cause intermittent outages throughout its duration.

With the outage there are still ways to listen either on 99.7 FM KDLS, the KDLS app on your electronic device or streaming online at raccoonvalleyradio.com
