With plenty of large gatherings left during the summer months, including the Iowa State Fair, health officials are reminding people about the continued mitigation guidelines against COVID-19.
Greene County Public Health Director Becky Wolf explains the main component for those looking to attend a large gathering yet this summer.
“It’s pretty simple, if you’re fully vaccinated you don’t have to wear a mask. But if you’re not fully vaccinated or you’ve only had one dose then you really should still be wearing a mask when you’re with other people, especially if you’re not able to social distance because you’re still at risk.”
Wolf notes since the pandemic began last year, there is a great sense of awareness and she has noticed that when people talk to each other, there is a behavior that they will converse at a greater distance than they did pre-pandemic.
