Time is running out to reserve a seat to the 4th Annual BOOST Bash fundraiser in support of the Greene County School District staff.
The Bringing Optimism and Opportunities to Students and Teachers (BOOST) of Greene County will hold its annual fundraiser Saturday, July 24th at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson. In three years, BOOST has raised over $170,000, including collecting over $50,000 last year when the event was held entirely online because of the pandemic.
BOOST Committee member Chris Deal explains two of the major changes for this year, including the date, going from March to July, and location, from Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson to Clover Hall.
“When we had to make the call back during the winter time, we didn’t know if an indoor event really was going to be a feasible thing still. So we pushed it back to summer and also went to a venue that give us a little more flexibility in terms of indoor/outdoor, and so we’re over at the fairgrounds.”
BOOST Committee member Matt Wetrich is excited to help teachers return to normal with their requests for funding to enhance educational opportunities, especially since the pandemic stopped most of those things from happening last year.
“We definitely want to get teacher’s mindset back on doing some bonus things they weren’t able to do last year, and expand their horizons a little bit about what they asked to do and what they want to do with kids this year. Hopefully we’ll have a nice rebound, a nice comeback on fun projects and new things for their curriculum, and for their classrooms, and experiences.”
The doors will open at 5pm on July 24th, with a meal to be served by Bett and Bev’s Barbecue at 6:30. The live and silent auctions will follow the meal. Tickets are $30 per person or $240 for a table of eight and can be purchased online by clicking the link below. Deadline to purchase a ticket is Monday, July 19th.
