Dallas Center – Grimes Mustangs softball had their season officially conclude on Wednesday, and they were able to put together a nice season that conclude at 22-16, but unfortunately no return trip to the state tournament in Des Moines.
DCG will be losing three senior pitchers in Blythe Geiman, Isabel Kidd, and Hannah Luellen, who all had some nice years. Those three pitchers were able to go a combined 14-4 and have around a 4 ERA as they were able to keep the Mustangs in a lot of games.
DCG will have some young pitchers coming back for next season that got varsity experience, which includes Macee Reiling, Olivia Huston, Drew Geiman, and Aubrey Johansen. Johansen was able to have the most experience and success of those four pitchers, as the freshmen was able to go 7-4 in 19 appearances with a 4.25 ERA with 46 strikeouts and 23 walks.
DCG will miss their three senior pitchers, but are coming this young crop of arms can step in and have productive years next year as the Mustangs will be looking to get back to state.
