Wednesday, July 14th

9:47am: Harry Silbaugh advised of a fox in his yard at 502 East Adams Street. He advised the animal is aggressive towards his dogs. The officer checked with the County Conservation and State DNR officers. Both advised the homeowner would need to contact a Nuisance Trapping Company to remove the fox.

11:21am: Regency Park advised a resident had struck another resident. No one was injured in the event. It is mandatory that they report the issue to law enforcement. No action will be taken by the officer.

11:51am: Dunkers by Matt reported someone dumping trash in his dumpster at 119 North Chestnut Street. The officer is investigating.

3:09pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of West South Street.

3:43pm: A stray dog was dropped off at the LEC. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

4:28pm: A subject advised he came out of the Courthouse and his vehicle is gone from where he had parked it. The officer located his vehicle on the other side of the square. He came out a different door of the Courthouse and could not see his car.

5:19pm: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Doreen Wilbur Drive resulted in Jay Wenger of Beaver being cited for, “Driving While Suspended, Fail to File SR-22 Insurance, and Operation without Registration.

5:19pm: A Jefferson resident reported falling victim to a Phone Scam. A caller advised the victim she worked for Alliant Energy, and she was behind on her utility bill. The caller advised unless she immediately paid $167.70, her power would be shut off. The victim provided her Debit Card number to the caller and was advised the debt was settled. They contacted their bank after thinking about the situation and learned $500.00 had been removed from their account. The bank closed the account and issued a new card.

10:37pm: April Hopkins requested an officer at 607 West South Street. She advised her boyfriend was intoxicated and would not leave her alone. The officer arrived and spoke to both parties. The officer determined it had been a verbal argument only. Both subjects advised the officer it was over, and they could stay together for the evening.
