As the coronavirus pandemic continues across Iowa, the daily numbers are slowing down, with this the updates on the State Coronavirus Dashboard will slow as well.

Dallas County Health Department Public Information Officer Ann Cochran talks about the recent announcement from the Iowa Department of Public Health about their changes to the State Coronavirus Dashboard and explains the reasons behind that decision.

“Fortunately because many folks have been vaccinated there are fewer changes to report on the updates. Early on in the pandemic there were daily significant changes in numbers and that’s just not true anymore. Even if you get information that’s four, five days old it’s still fairly accurate.”

Cochran tells Raccoon Valley Radio the number of those vaccinated in Dallas County is above 60-percent for those who are adults and more than 30-percent who are among the age of 12-17 are vaccinated.

Cochran adds, even though testing levels have decreased since the beginning of the pandemic there are still places for people to get tested including local clinics as well as pharmacies.
