A Jefferson man is going to prison for a child abuse incident.
According to court documents, 30-year-old Daniel Tasler pled guilty to lesser charges of two aggravated misdemeanors for child endangerment. He was sentenced to two years in prison for each charge, to run consecutively, along with a three year probation sentence for a Polk County burglary incident in March of 2020.
The child endangerment charges stem from an incident on December 29, 2020. A Jefferson Police Officer responded to a call from the Greene County Medical Center about injuries to two children that were not associated with most falls. During the investigation, it was discovered that Tasler got into an argument with the two victims, who suffered injuries from the incident.
Talser was originally charged with a Class C Felony for child endangerment-serious injury and court documents showed the charge was changed to the aggravated misdemeanor.
