It’s Greene County High School non-conference baseball on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com tonight with the Atlantic Trojans from the Hawkeye 10 Conference. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. with air time shortly after 7 o’clock.
Atlantic is 12-13 on the season and needs a win to have a chance at a winning season. The Trojans began the season 7-4, then lost seven games in a row before getting back on track.
Greene County started the season 0-6 and has won six of its last eight games. Coach Matt Paulsen’s Rams stand at 8-14 overall. Three of the wins have been against teams with winning records including Class 3A Algona with a 16-12 mark entering the week. The Rams bumped off 23-11 West Marshall when the Trojans were leading the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, and they have a victory over Southeast Valley (Gowrie), who went 14-12. WM and SEV are 2A programs.
After tonight, the Rams go to Gilbert this Friday vs. Gilbert to open Class 3A Substate 8 play at 7 p.m. Gilbert is the top seed in the Substate and won the Raccoon River Conference title. You can hear Friday’s game on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
