Dallas Center – Grimes softball played in their 4A regional semifinal game on Monday night against the Gilbert Tigers, and were able to score a fleury of runs early in the game and move on to the next round in a 9-4 victory. DCG moves to 22-15 on the season while Gilbert ends the season at 14-18.

The Mustangs were able to score multiple runs in the first three inning of the game, as they were able to jump out to an early lead and never look back. The Mustangs were once again able to get solid pitching as well, and get good defense all night long to advance to the championship game.

DCG will be taking on North Polk tonight in Grimes with the winner to advance to the state tournament next week in Fort Dodge. First pitch in slated for 7 pm.
