The Greene County High School softball season ended last week with a 6-16 final record. Two of the losses were by forfeit due to injuries to the pitching staff. Activities Director Todd Gordon talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the softball Rams.
“This was a very young team with just one senior in Karissa Stephenson, the Paton-Churdan graduate. We thank Karissa for spending her summer playing Greene County softball her senior year!”
Coach Gordon added, “A lot returns next year, and we had great numbers in the middle school, so hopefully that translates into some more eighth graders (in 2022) and keeping those kids out in the summer.”
Coach Tom Kennedy did see improvement from early in the season when Greene County started 0-5. The Rams have not had a winning season in varsity softball since 2016.
