A Grand Junction woman was sentenced to probation for an assault incident.
According to court documents, 34-year-old Candice Ortiz pled guilty to a lesser charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for assault with a dangerous weapon. She had a two year prison sentence suspended and was placed on probation for two years.
The charge stemmed from an incident on April 12th. A Greene County Deputy responded to a call that Ortiz entered a home in the 200 block of Hager Street in Grand Junction around 6:11am. The homeowner said Ortiz was holding a knife and claimed her nieces were at the home.
