The Fourth of July weekend is fast approaching, and there are more activities popping up for people to take part in.
Walter Aviation will be having airplane rides from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 3rd and 4th for people to see the City of Perry from the sky. Perry Airport Manager Jon Walter says there are two different types of rides including a scenic ride for $20 and thrill rides for $100 per person.
“If you have never seen the view from a small aircraft it is absolutely amazing. You get to see all of town, if you live in town (you get to) see your neighbor’s houses, (and) your house. It’s just a really awesome experience especially for young kids and we’ve taken up young kids all the way up to people that are in their 80’s or 90’s that have never been on an airplane before.”
Walk-ins are welcomed, although Walter suggests scheduling a time slot for a ride.
“In the past we historically tend to get booked up, especially the last few days before the event, so call ahead and schedule a spot. Just show up and bring your camera, take photos, it’s going to be a memorable event.”
To participate in the airplane rides participants must be over the age of 18 and children must be accompanied by an adult, and there is no rain date for the event.
