Monday, June 21st

10:40am: A deputy investigated a theft in the 500 block of State Street, Scranton.

12:18pm: A deputy investigated a ditch fire on 220th Street and C Avenue. Ralston Fire Department responded and put the fire out.

1:41pm: A deputy investigated a complaint of cattle on the roadway on 170 th Street near V Avenue.

9:36pm: The Sheriff, a deputy, Iowa State Patrol, Jefferson Fire Department, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle fatal accident on 220 th Street and Orchard Avenue. Logan Ancell 21 of Ottumwa was operating a Harley Davidson Motorcycle heading Eastbound on 220th Street and crossed the center line and struck Rochelle Guess 64 of Jefferson head on. Rochelle was operating a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. Logan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the accident.

Tuesday, June 22nd

9:47am: A deputy picked up a stray dog in the 1900 block of 310th Street.

5:17pm: A deputy assisted with horses out in the 1100 block of Orchard Avenue.

8:50pm: A deputy arrested Raymond Bacon 45 of Grand Junction for sexual abuse 3rd degree.

9:11pm: A deputy investigated a suspicious person near the Grand Junction swimming pool.

9:20pm: Raymond Bacon 45 of Grand Junction was booked into the jail for sexual abuse 3rd degree.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
