Home State Bank in Jefferson is looking to give back, while also helping customers get rid of unnecessary documents.

The annual Customer Shred Day event is tomorrow from 4-6pm. Items that will be accepted and shredded include white or colored paper, millina folders, shiny or coated paper, envelopes and magazines. Items that won’t be accepted include tissue paper, metal, glass, plastic and newspaper. Additionally, customers are encouraged to donate food items when they drop off their documents, with all donations to be given to the Greene County Action Resource Center in Jefferson.

Customers are asked to enter the parking lot from Lincoln Way, where staff will be on hand to take food donations and shredding materials for those who don’t want to get out of their vehicle. Participants must then exit the parking lot onto Vine Street. There are no limits to the amount of documents that can be shredded for this free event.
