Several rounds of thunderstorms brought hail, high winds and heavy rainfall to the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area Tuesday evening.

The Severe Weather Action Team was activated for live coverage of the first round of severe thunderstorm warnings that were issued by the National Weather Service for northeastern Dallas County at 4:59pm. Trained weather spotters reported quarter-sized hail in the area, with the warning expiring at 5:45pm.

The next thunderstorm warning was issued at 6:09pm for Greene County. Sheriff Jack Williams confirmed golf ball sized hail in the Scranton area, along with heavy rain and moderate winds in the northern portion of the county. The warning was extended before expiring at 7:15pm. Then at 6:57pm, a thunderstorm warning was issued for eastern Guthrie and western Dallas counties. Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Deputy Coordinator Jeremy Cooper reported dime, nickel and quarter sized hail fell in Bagley. Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator A.J.Seely reported heavy rainfall and dispatched area weather spotters. The warning expired at 7:45pm. There were no immediate reports of property damage.

Five Raccoon Valley Radio staff, along with a caller, Weatherology meteorologists, law enforcement and area emergency management coordinators provided live coverage of the thunderstorm warnings Tuesday evening. Severe Weather Action Team brings live coverage anytime there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning for Greene, Dallas or Guthrie counties.
