The Guthrie Center School Board met in special session Tuesday night.

The lone agenda item was to make an appointment to the board, which the Board voted 3-1 for Matt VanMeter. The action was taken, due to former board member Wilma Stetzel resigning due to personal reasons.

Because the Board chose to appoint VanMeter, the seat will be available during the November election. At that time whoever is elected to the seat will serve out the remaining two years of the four year term.
