The continued streak of lack of precipitation in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area has led to increased drought conditions.
According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor all of Dallas, Greene and Guthrie counties are now under a severe drought. The northern half of Adair County is under a severe drought while the southern half is under a moderate drought.
According to the National Weather Service in Des Moines Perry has received 0.79-inches of rain over the past week, Guthrie Center has received 0.48-inches and Jefferson has received 0.30-inches over the week beginning with June 11th and ending with June 18th.
