Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers baseball knew they were going to have their hands full on Monday night when one of the states best and Raccoon River Conference foe Gilbert came to Adel, and Gilbert was able to use a pair of big innings to win by the score of 9-2.
The Tigers found trouble in the second inning as four walks allowed along with key base hits helped Gilbert grab five runs to make it 5-0. ADM was able to get two in the bottom of the sixth after an RBI triple from Tate Stine-Smith and RBI single from Grant Garton. Gilbert would tally three in the seventh after the Tigers couldn’t make a couple of plays on hard hit balls.
Cole Williamson went two innings giving up five earned runs on three hits while walking four, unfortunately getting the loss for the Tigers. The Tigers were able to tally eight hits on the night but unfortunately couldn’t manufacture more runs to stay in the game, as the Tigers lost for the fourth time in the last five games.
For ADM they will be back to work on Wednesday night when they take on the Toreadors of Boone, as they will look to get back on track against a tough Boone team.
