Roland-Story was a 15-6 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference high school baseball winner on Monday night over Greene County at Allensworth Field in Jefferson. The Norsemen, ranked number 2 in Class 2A by the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association, improved to 12-3 overall and 4-2 in the league while the Rams fell to 2-9, 1-6.
R-S had 14 hits and four errors while leaving 12 runners on base. The Rams had seven hits and one error with five left on.
Greene County used four pitchers with starter Alex Roberts taking the loss. Joe Carey singled and doubled for Coach Matt Paulsen’s team and he scored two runs. Carey was the only Ram with more than one hit and more than one run scored. Braeden Roberts and Cameren Miller each doubled and each drove in a run. Kole Teeples had an RBI single.
Nolan Faber had four hits for R-S and Jackson Anthony drove in four runs.
Greene County is off tonight and the Rams play South Hamilton in Jewell on Wednesday.
