Residents in Dallas County may be eligible for money to spend this season at their local farmers markets.

The Dallas County Health Department announced that residents in Dallas County who are low income and who are at least 60-years-old may be eligible for $30 to spend at their local farmers market.

The income guidelines are $23,606 for a single person and $31,894 for those who are married. Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says they are assisting in distributing farmers market vouchers.

“We are assisting our partners at the Department of Agriculture and Iowa’s Aging Resources to distribute the farmers market vouchers for anyone who is age 60 and over and these vouchers can be spent at local farmers markets. So, if you are interested in that you can give us a call at the health department.”
