An annual event is happening this weekend in some Guthrie County communities.

The Heart of Guthrie County Garage Sale will take place this Friday from 3-8pm and Saturday from 8am-3pm. This is a partnership between the Panora and Guthrie Center chambers, with several residents and businesses taking advantage of having lots of items for sale. Panora Chamber Board First Vice President Kristin Rummelhart says hard copy maps with locations spread across the communities are available at several businesses in both cities. She adds there is also an electronic map that can be found on Facebook.

“Either chamber page, the Guthrie Center or Panora chamber pages, will have interactive maps. So there will be a Google link and you can click on that and check it out on your computer.”

Rummelhart says on Saturday from 3-5pm a Salvation Army truck will be at the Guthrie County State Bank in Guthrie Center and the Lakeside Village in Panora to take anyone’s left over garage sale items that they don’t want. They will accept slightly used goods.
