A juvenile driver suffered minor injuries in a rollover crash in Greene County Monday morning.
Iowa State Patrol District 4 Resource Officer Shelby McCreedy tells Raccoon Valley Radio a 14-year-old from Grand Junction was heading west on 235th Street in a 2008 Ford F-150 truck at 7:43am. McCreedy says as the driver was approaching the S curve, the passenger side tires went onto the gravel shoulder. The driver then over corrected, crossed the centerline, over corrected again, lost traction and entered the west ditch, where the truck rolled a quarter turn, landing on the passenger side.
Greene County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Shane Allen says the juvenile was the only occupant, and they were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash, and the truck was a total loss. McCreedy says the driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. She adds the driver was cited for failure to maintain control.
The Sheriff’s Office, along with the Iowa State Patrol, Greene County Ambulance and the Jefferson Fire Department responded to the scene.
