Much like the first two fundraisers for the Fourth of July celebration in Perry the Grocery Bill Roundup with the Perry Chamber went well.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says there was a great turnout for the Grocery Bill Roundup that took place for nine days with Perry HyVee and Perry Fareway. Pasutti says she is thankful for all of the money that was raised during the event.

“Any pennies that were added up, any dollars just goes to show what the group effort can look like in the end bringing in some extra dollars for the fireworks drive.”

Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio throughout the roundup Fareway raised more than $1,600 and HyVee raised more than $2,400 and is appreciative of the stores participating in the event.

“So, we are very thankful for both of those stores to take on the initiative it is a huge ask, a huge lift for the actual cashiers that are making the ask and of course the community for a few cents, a few dollars here and there but ultimately it all adds up and it is really exciting to see what that impact looks like in the end.”

All of the money raised goes toward the Fourth of July celebration in Perry which the Chamber says they will use half of the extra money for a larger display this year and the other half will be saved for next year.
