The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has been working several months on an investigation in which a drug hierarchy has been uncovered.

The investigation started in September of 2020 with a traffic stop that resulted in a drug possession charge. From there, investigators obtained search warrants to gain access to the suspect’s social media and through those means, law enforcement uncovered a drug network within Greene County that has resulted, so far, in over nine arrests.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams says the investigation is ongoing, with possibly more suspects and charges pending, but he appreciates County Attorney Thomas Laehn allowing them to continue looking into the case. He points out they have discovered an extensive methamphetamine network, and believes that meth continues to be the largest drug problem in Greene County.

“My main goal is, I know we’ll never get rid of the drug completely, but as long as we have the drug dealers, drug users running scared, that usually slows up the crime rate from them going out doing burglaries and thefts to supply their habit. As long as we’ve got them running scared of being caught, then I’m happy for now.”

Laehn tells Raccoon Valley Radio law enforcement has conducted numerous interviews and gathered several pieces of evidence during the investigation, which has led to lots of charges in the case.

“I have filed indictments in several of those cases, there are likely more coming. But it has been a tremendously successful investigation. We are now entering the prosecution phase of the criminal justice process in several cases.”

Laehn adds that the charges are merely accusations and everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Some of the suspects involved in the case that have been charged include James Moreland, Tanisha Dillinger, Ryan Murphy, Martin Tolsdorf, Sean Shell, andRyan Patterson, among others.
