The 12th Annual Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Special Olympics All-Wheel show had a good turnout this weekend. 

The all-wheel show made its return this year after having to be cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Dallas County Deputy Ray Dirksen says it was a good feeling to have the all-wheel show again this year after having to cancel it last year. 

“The feeling I think that we had was kind of overwhelming with the support that we’ve gotten this year for this car show. We hit just shy of maybe around 170 registered cars.”

Dirksen tells Raccoon Valley Radio the number of cars that were registered for the all-wheel show this year among some of the highest to turnout for the show. Dirksen says it was a good feeling to be able to raise money for the Special Olympics of Iowa again this year. 

“They were saying how well the car show was put together, how happy they were to be out and about to go to something like this and that we actually brought it back to them. The people that we saw seemed to be supportive and very happy that we did what we did.”
