Wednesday, June 2nd

7:59am: Scott Weber reported a vehicle had lost its tire near Chestnut and Elm Streets. The officer assisted the motorist and arrangements were made to remove the vehicle from the roadway.

8:14am: A Humbolt PD Officer contacted a Jefferson officer about an Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. A male subject had used a Humboldt resident’s card at 106 West Washington Street in Jefferson. A suspect was provided to the Jefferson officer. The amount of the transaction was $17.15. The officer is investigating.

1:15pm: Nellie Petterson advised her vehicle had lost its brakes and she was on the South Grimmell River Bridge. An officer moved the vehicle off the bridge for Petterson, who advised a family member was coming to assist her.

3:10pm: A Traffic Stop at Wall and Maple Streets resulted in Mason Happe of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

5:26pm: The Jefferson Vet Clinic advised of a Stray Dog that had been picked up. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

Thursday, June 3rd

9:59am: Sophia Ausberger reported a Stray Dog in the 600 Block of South Wilson Ave. The officer was unable to locate the animal.

10:32am: An officer removed a bat from the Church at 301 North Chestnut Street.

1:06pm: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the 100 Block of East State Street. A 2001 Dodge Ram, owned by Luann Hooper and operated buy Isle Hooper of Jefferson, was backing from a parking spot and turned too sharply. Hooper’s vehicle struck the parked vehicle next to them. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 was owned by Sharon Richardson of Coon Rapids. The Hooper vehicle suffered a reported $800.00 in damages, while the Richardson vehicle had a reported $3500.00 in damage. Hooper was cited for, “Fail to Maintain Control.”

3:54pm: Oly’s Corner reported a vehicle left without paying for $49.45 in fuel from 208 West Lincoln Way Street. A short time later, the subject realized they did not pay for the fuel and returned to settle the debt.

4:01pm: An officer located two subjects pushing a grocery cart on the road near the Jefferson Municipal Airport on 235th Street. The officer learned the couple’s vehicle had broken down and they took the cart to walk home with their groceries, with the plan to return the cart. Another subject stopped and offered to drive the couple home and return the cart to Hy-Vee.

6:25pm: A caller advised of Loud Music in the 700 Block of South Cedar Street. The officer did not locate anything in the area.

6:45pm: Greta Halterman reported the Theft of $70.00 from her wallet at 708 West Harrison Street. The officer is investigating.

7:59pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of South Elm Street.

8:17pm: A caller reported a possible Intoxicated Driver on a motorcycle heading towards Jefferson on 235th Street. The officers did not locate the reported motorist.

9:13pm: Cassie Bardole reported as she walked her dog in the 200 Block of North Cedar Street, another dog approached her animal, attempting to bite her animal. The officer located the owner of the animal and issued Joshua Medina a Citation for, “Animal at Large Prohibited.”
