The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident this past weekend.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio the incident started with a verbal altercation in Fareway’s parking lot Saturday. Then 44-four-year-old Renee Guzman of Paton told law enforcement that the people he had a disagreement with, including 22-year-old Mathew Guzman of Perry, 23-year-old Reed Hillenga of Berwick and 29-year-old Manuel Ochoa of Perry, shot at his 2013 Buick Enclave three times on North Elm Street.

Mathew Guzman stated that the gunshots were in self-defense because Renee rammed into the back of his vehicle. Williams says both vehicles were total losses, but no one was hurt. No charges or arrests have been made as this case remains under investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. The Iowa State Patrol is assisting in the investigation and Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
