Dallas Center – Grimes soccer has been playing great soccer as of late, and they hope that great play can continue today when they compete in the 2A state tournament in Des Moines when they take on Waverly – Shell Rock in quarterfinal action. This is a 2 vs 7 matchup, with DCG entering play at 16-3 and Waverly – Shell Rock at 13-6. This is the first matchup between these two teams in at least a decade.

DCG will be looking for a big time performance as they are currently winners of nine straight and had a solid performance against Gilbert in their final action in sub-state play 3-0. They will be taking on a team that has great offensive talent like the Mustangs, as defense and goaltending will be key for this Mustang team on the day, and they must take advantage of the opportunities that they are given as well.
