A Sunday evening incident occurred where an individual was hurt making repairs inside a wind turbine in Adair County.
Geoff Greenwood with MidAmerican Energy tells Raccoon Valley Radio a contractor crew member was working on a hub of a turbine at the Arbor Hill Wind Farm shortly before 10pm Sunday night. The crew member was stuck in the interior of one of the blades. Emergency crews, including Stuart Fire and Rescue, removed the individual from the blade and assisted lowering him from the turbine.
Greenwood says the crew member was taken to a Des Moines hospital by ambulance for injuries. He adds that MidAmerican has stopped work at the site and is working closely with the contractor on a full investigation into the incident.
Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
