Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tiger softball competed over the weekend at a tournament down in Winterset, and were able to have a great day going 3-0 and putting together a nice first week overall with a record of 5-1. The Tigers were able to grab a win over Nodaway Valley 11-0, Interstate 35 10-3, and Harlan in 2-1 in extra innings.

In the victory over Nodaway Valley, the Tigers were able to end their matchup in five innings, scoring in every frame. Senior Brooke Hickey was able to grab three hits in the contest which included a home run. Tess Boorn was able to pitch five innings and grab the shoutout in the process.

The Tigers found the long ball against I-35, as Hickey, Madi James, and Kaylee Smith were all able to leave the ballpark as the Tigers climbed back from an early deficit.

The Harlan game was a great one between the two teams, as the Tigers got an incredible pitching performance from Aliya Yanga to grab the victory. She went 9 innings, not giving up a hit, only one walk, and 13 strikeouts in a monster effort.

Tigers softball will have more games upcoming this week, and hope that they continue to build up on their recent five game winning streak.
