Adel-Desoto-Minburn boys soccer played in the championship game of the boys 2A Substate 8 game on Wednesday  night in Adel, and were able to defeat the Creston Panthers by the score of 2-0 to advance to the state tournament next week in Des Moines.

The Tigers were able to put together a stifling defensive performance while getting an offensive performance that was tough all night long. The Tigers got the scoring going with 32 minutes left in the first half, when Jacob Yanachek was able to get by a couple of defenders on the right side and then find a cutting Josh Pike who was able to beautifully finish to give ADM a 1-0 lead. In the first two minutes of the second half, Yanachek picked up the loose ball and hit a rocket past the goalkeeper to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.

ADM was able to dominate ball possession throughout the night as they were able to play the majority of the contest in the Creston zone, and really limited the Panthers chances throughout the night as well.

ADM moves to 14-4 while Creston ends a nice season at 12-5. The Tigers will be moving on to the state tournament next Tuesday in Des Moines. They will be playing at 2:40 and will be the 5 seed, as they will be slated to take on the Dutch of Pella in the first round of play.
