Thursday, May 20th
9:32am: Regency park requested assistance from an officer with a resident who left the facility without permission. The officer assisted in taking the subject to ER.
3:55pm: Ace Hardware requested an officer to respond to 403 West Head Street. A customer had struck a light pole in the parking lot and left the scene. The pole received minor damages. It is unknown the damages to the vehicle that left the scene. The officer is investigating.
3:48pm: ER requested an officer at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street for an unruly patient. The officer assisted staff in calming the subject down.
4:59pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 707 West Harrison Street. The officer found the residence to be secure and called and spoke to the owner of the property.
7:57pm: Amelia Carman reported Harassment from neighbors at 106 North Walnut Street. The officer is investigating.
8:02pm: Rhett Brown reported a group of juveniles on the roof of the old Middle School in the 200 Block of West Harrison Street. The officer located a group of youngsters in the area, and sent them on their way. The group would not admit to being on the roof.
10:03pm: A caller advised of vehicles sitting in the parking lot at the old Middle School, located in the 200 Block of West Harrison Street. The officer made contact with the occupants of the vehicles, who advised they were just sitting there and talking. The officer sent them on their way.
10:28pm: A deputy requested assistance from an officer on 16th Street in Grand Junction for a Car vs. Train Accident. The deputy handled all charges in the matter.
Friday, May 21st
7:53am: Ashley Wells reported the Theft of a Bicycle overnight from 718 South Locust Street. Wells called back a short time later and advised the bike had been found.
8:26am: Charles Heimer spoke to an officer in connection to a Property Line Dispute at 907 North Cedar Street.
10:56am: A Traffic Stop in the 500 Block of East Lincoln Way Street resulted in David Swanson of Fairfield being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
12:53pm: The manager at the 1213 Westwood Drive Apartments reported Criminal Mischief and Theft from a pay washing machine at the complex. The machine was damaged, and the quarters were removed from the unit. It was estimated at $250.00 to repair the machine. The officer is investigating.
3:34pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 300 Block of South West Street.
5:52pm: Carston William spoke to an officer about Child Restraint Laws in Iowa. He was given information and a web site from the officer.
7:46pm: Jennifer Schiltz reported a possible Intoxicated Male on the ground near the Milwaukee Rail Depot in the 600 Block of East Lincoln Way Street. The officer made contact with the subject in the 700 Block of East Lincoln Way and determined he was not impaired.
8:25pm: Officers had a vehicle towed from Daubendiek Park. The vehicle has sat at the park, and other Jefferson parks, for several days. A contact number could not be found for the registered owner of the vehicle to have it moved.
9:30pm: Cody Renwanz called and advised his vehicle had broken down at the Jefferson Golf Course. He advised he would have the vehicle removed in the morning.
Saturday, May 22nd
12:02am: Shawn Ellsbury reported the Theft of $20.00 from 504 South Walnut Street. He provided a suspect to the officer. Ellsbury called back later and withdrew his complaint.
3:03pm: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the 200 Block of West Russell Street. A 2007 Ford F150, owned and operated by Al Jensen of Jefferson, was backing from a private drive and struck a parked vehicle. The 2018 Nissan Altima is owned by Mike Bravard of Jefferson. Jensen had a reported $500.00 in rear end damage, while the Bravard vehicle suffered a reported $5000.00 in driver’s side damages.
3:53pm: A caller advised of a Suspicious Male near 904 West Harrison Street. The officer did not locate the subject in the area.
5:14pm: Guthrie County advised of a possible Intoxicated Subject on a motorcycle heading towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.
7:38pm: Josh Derry reported a golf cart parked in the parking lot at 1207 North Elm Street, with open alcoholic containers aboard. The officer arrived as a couple exited the store and went to the cart. After speaking with the driver, the officer determined he had not been consuming the alcoholic beverages. He advised they had drunk the items the prior day at home. A Verbal Warning was issued for, “Open Container.”
Sunday, May 23rd
12:07am: Officers assisted Jefferson Fire with a Fire Alarm Activation at the Cobblestone Hotel, located at 771 Wild Rose Lane. No fire was located, and it was deemed a False Alarm.
8:31am: A Traffic Stop in the 1500 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Alexander Miller of West Des Moines being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
9:49am: An officer and a deputy responded to 107 East Vest Street for a reported Domestic Argument. The officer learned the male, who does not reside there, had left on foot before officers arrived. The officer located the male subject and advised him he is no longer welcome at the property, per the female’s wishes.
3:50pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1700 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Bonnie Wetzel of Cedar Falls being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
4:04pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and Clark Streets resulted in Sharon Campbell of Fontanelle being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
4:52pm: A caller advised of a juvenile smoking cigarettes at Russell Park. The officer did not locate anyone in the area.
8:43pm: Adam Choruzek reported a Careless Driver on 220 th Street, heading west into Jefferson. The officer located the reported vehicle and did not witness any driving infractions.
9:24pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1400 Block of North Elm Street resulted in McKenna King of Urbandale being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
******** An officer completed an investigation that began on 02/22/2021, at 106 West Washington Street. A check was written at HyVee on a closed account of a deceased Boone County woman. (2) Arrest Warrants have been requested for Joshua Kelly Uranga, 40 of Pilot Mound for, “Forgery – D Felony and Theft rd – Aggravated.” The check written was for $829.97.
Monday, May 24th
10:08am: Dianne Blackmer advised an officer of a Phone Scam Call she had received. The caller advised her of fraudulent activity on her bank card and was demanding her account information. She did not give the caller any information.
11:15am: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 707 West Harrison Street. The officer located the homeowner in the garage, who advised he is having issues with the alarm system.
12:55pm: The Greene County High School advised a 17-year-old female student was caught with a nearly empty bottle of alcohol and vaping products at the school. The officer has sent charges to the Juvenile Court for, “Possession of Alcohol Under Legal Age.” The juvenile was also issued a citation for, “Person Under 21 Using Vaping Products.” She was also suspended from school and will face other punishments there.
1:23pm: Kody Hoskins reported a Stray Dog near Elm and Russell Streets. The officer did not locate the reported animal.
2:28pm: Brittany Cook advised she had purchased an IPAD from Facebook Marketplace, and now suspects it was stolen. The officer is investigating.
2:58pm: Jessamae Strennen reported a female had approached her vehicle and assaulted her through the window. Strennen and a group of friends had located the vehicle responsible at 1003 West Wall Street. They were taking photos of the vehicle’s registration plate to report the assault to law enforcement when subjects approached and threw rocks at them. They left the area and came to the LEC. The officer is investigating the reported event.
8:00pm: Joy Fox reported receiving a phone call advising of Unauthorized Activity on her bank account. She ended the call. The officer advised her it may be a Scam Call and to contact her bank in the morning.
8:52pm: A Traffic Stop at Grimmell and Central resulted in Brenton Schroeder of Scranton being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
11:48pm: Alysha Steece reported a possible Violation of a Protective Order, which had occurred in Early May 2021. The officer is investigating.
