Greene County ended the high school girls’ golf season on Monday in a Class 3A Regional tournament at the Majestic Hills Golf Course at Denison. The Rams did not have the necessary four golfers finish the round of 18 holes to qualify for a team score.
Alex Miller shot the low round for Greene County at 53-50=100. Afton Funcke shot 61-57=118, and Brianna Habben was at 63-57=120.
Gilbert with 375 and Nevada at 400 for 18 holes were the State qualifying teams. Bishop Heelan (Sioux City) and Denison-Schleswig each shot 412 with arrow at 414, MOC-Floyd Valley 435, Harlan Community 438, Spencer 446, LeMars, Sioux Center, and Sergeant Bluff-Luton each at 467.
Several times this season the Rams have had less than enough girls to register a team score and Coach Josh Carlson told Raccoon Valley Radio a goal for next year is to get more girls to go out for golf.
