Guthrie County ISU Extension held a success event, after having it be cancelled last year because of COVID-19.

The 2021 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Fest took place earlier this month on the downtown square in Panora. Guthrie County Extension partnered with Southwest Iowa STEM Region for the event that included 14 vendor booths and over ten hands-on activities. Over 150 people enjoyed touching over 100 different insects, feeling the inside of an eye, mining for chocolate chip cookies, among other activities.

Additionally, Guthrie County Extension received a grant to host a Storywalk. The program allowed individuals and families to go on a self-guided walk while reading the book “Gravity” by Jason Chin. Of the over 150 participants, there was representation from all of the school districts in Guthrie County.
