The Greene County Medical Center Board of Trustees recently received high marks for completing a voluntary training program.

The medical center earned a three-star distinction for having 100-percent board participation in the Iowa Hospital Association Hospital Board Certification program. The newest member of the seven-member elected board, Kate Neese, went through the program for the first time this year.

The Hospital Board Certification provides education guidance to ensure excellence, innovation and accountability in health care governance. The Board members include Chair Jim Schleisman, along with Kim Bates, Ralph Riedesel, Doug Hawn, Bill Raney, David Hoyt and Neese.
