Nicole Scar, Earlham, was driving east bound in the 33000 block of Mills Civic Parkway, when she was hit by Debora Linquist, Waukee, as she left a driveway.  Damage to Ms. Scar’s vehicle was estimated at $1500 and was towed from the scene.  Damage to Ms. Linquist’s vehicle was estimated at $5000 and was able to be driving back to the driveway she was in prior to the accident.  No injuries were reported.

May 22

Franklin Saypahn, Sioux Falls, SD, was traveling eastbound on I80 when he struck a deer.  Damage was estimated at $3000.

Manuel L. Mata, age 24, 1211 Deer Run Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear.  The original charge was Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled Or Revoked.

Maria Estrada Patino, Des Moines, was traveling east in the 27000 block of Hwy 141 when she struck a deer.  Damage was estimated at $7500 and had to be towed from the scene.  No injuries were reported.

May 23

Amrit S. Bassi, age 28, 3601 SE 5th St, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Theft 1st Degree, Fraudulent Practice 1st Degree and 2 counts of Forgery.

Melinda Owens, Redding, Ca, was traveling west bound in the 17000 block of Hwy 141 when she struck a deer.  Ms. Owens vehicle sustained approximately $5000 in damage.  There were no injuries reported.

Christina Chapman, Earlham, was traveling north bound on N Ave when she turned to make a left hand turn onto Prairie Circle.  She was struck by Katelyn Cummins, Indianola, who was traveling south bound.  Chapman’s vehicle then struck Geneva Timmerman, Earlham, who was stopped at the stop sign, waiting to enter N Ave.   Damage to Chapman’s vehicle was estimated at $4000, Cummin’s damage was estimated at $3500 and Timmerman’s damage was estimated at $2000.  EMS was asked to check out 2 of the drivers, but no one was transported to the hospital.  Chapman and Cummins vehicles were towed from the scene.
