A tornado warning was issued for Dallas and Boone Counties Thursday night.
The National Weather Service in Des Moines issued a tornado warning for Boone and Dallas Counties at 9:39 p.m. Thursday due to a shower capable of producing a tornado that was located near Granger and eight miles northwest of Grimes. The source of the tornado hazard was due to a radar indicated rotation.
The tornado warning was able to drop off for Dallas County at 9:56 p.m. and Boone County was able to expire prior to 10 p.m. According to Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator A.J. Seely there were no reports of damage.
Seely says if you do have damage to report you can contact Dallas County Emergency Management at 515-993-9894. Raccoon Valley Radio was able to return to regularly scheduled programming at 10:04 p.m. Thursday.
