The Stuart Fire Department responded to a vehicle accident on Interstate 80 Friday night.
The Iowa State Patrol (ISP), Stuart Police Department and Stuart Fire Department responded to a call for an accident at approximately 11:44 p.m. Friday night at the westbound 90 mile marker on I-80. According to the ISP crash report a semi was traveling westbound and left the roadway and lost control on the shoulder.
The report states the semi then entered the ditch and rolled onto its side. Both lanes of traffic on I-80 West were blocked and traffic was detoured until the semi could be towed away from the scene. There was a driver and a passenger in the vehicle and the passenger was injured and transported to Mercy West in Des Moines by Stuart Rescue.
