We are now just weeks away from this year’s Bell Tower Festival in Jefferson.

The theme is Mission Impossible 2.0, which features some returning acts and activities, as well as some new aspects. Events Team Chair Philip Heisterkamp says Friday night, June 11th will include the Tower of Fame as part of the opening ceremonies. Then on Saturday will be the return of the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Ding Dong Dash fun run/walk in the morning, followed by the Jefferson Rotary Parade. The “open concept” will also return, which allows those of legal age to purchase and walk around the downtown square with an alcoholic beverage.

New this year includes the car show from the Junkyard Cafe, as well as an “Art Around the Square” featuring several artists, along with a variety of food, crafts and other vendors. Heisterkamp says there will be a cook-off and the return of the Reunion Rendezvous on the northwest corner of the Greene County Courthouse grounds. He points out that there will be several family-friendly games going throughout the two-day event.

“Most of our entertainment is geared towards family-fun, to where all of our Mission Impossible-style games will be geared towards, we have really three types: carnival games, impossible mission games where it’s a task that should be impossible but we’ll see if you can do it, and then there are some other straight up movie-style Mission Impossible-style themed games that we’re devising as well.”
