When Greene County’s track & field squads left Manson on Thursday night, they knew the boys had won that Class 2A State Qualifying Meet and the girls had tied for eighth place. They also knew six boys’ events and two for girls had automatically qualified for the May 20-21-22 Coed State Meet in Des Moines at Drake Stadium.

What the Rams found out on Friday was what events qualified for State on an at-large basis, which grew the number of qualifying boys’ events to eight and girls’ events to six.

Below is the complete list of Greene County HS qualifiers and where their State Qualifying performances rank in the field of 24 in Class 2A.

Boys:

Long jump- Bryce Stalder 2nd

Shuttle hurdle relay (Nathan Black, Stalder, Jaxon Warnke, Jackson Morton) 2nd

110 meter high hurdles- Morton 3rd

High jump- Black 9th

Discus throw- Josh Ewalt 14th

400 m low hurdles- Morton 18th

4 x 200 meter relay- (Nathan Wailes-Warnke-Richard Daugherty-Stalder) 18th

4 x 400 m relay (Stalder-Warnke-Morton-Daugherty) 24th

Girls:

Discus throw- Brooklynn Olson 4th

Long jump- Brianna Osterson 10th

4 x 100 meter relay- (Olivia Shannon-Osterson-Makala Kafer-Natalie Heupel) 16th

4 x 200 m relay- (Shannon-Kafer-Osterson- N. Heupel) 16th

Shot put- Olson 22nd
