The Greene County Early Learning Center has received another business donation toward its new building project.

Home State Bank donated $100,000 for the $2.1 million project, which includes increasing the current capacity for child care to 50-percent. The money will be used to sponsor the two infant rooms as part of the “Children’s Hero” level, which will be licensed for 16 babies. Home State Bank President Sid Jones says the donation is in honor of one of their previous board members  Mary Garst. Jones points out Garst was a supporter of having access to quality child care for the bank employee’s families.

A previous donation from the McLaughlin Family Companies of Scranton gave $100,000 for the new playground, also as part of the “Children’s Hero” level.

The non-profit child care organization has raised $1.6 million as part of their “Growth Happens Here” campaign. Contact them to make a donation at growthhappenshere@gmail.com or call 515-386-2092.
