Al Robson of rural Scranton recently was named NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) State Official of the Year in Iowa for girls’ cross-country. A longtime cross-country and track & field starter, Robson previously had been honored in the sport of track & field.
Jeff Lamoureux is the Greene County High School girls and boys cross-country coach and he told Raccoon Valley Radio. “Al is very deserving of this award. I always like it when he officiates our meets because he does such a great job. Plus, I’ve known Al a number of years, even before I starting coaching cross-country. It adds a little more when you actually know the person getting the award, and we’re happy for Al.”
