With Project Deliver The LOVE taking place next week, Perry Lutheran Homes is still in need of volunteers to help out.

Marketing Director Mollie Clark says the event aims to bring love and joy and to help out the elderly population with concerns of mobility issues or feeling isolated, especially during the pandemic.

“Project Deliver The Love it’s a fun way for everybody in the community to step up together with Perry Lutheran Homes and really celebrate, serve, and engage and connect with these elderly citizens.”

Clark says on May 12th roughly 200 volunteers will be delivering baskets, filled with food and other items, to nearly 350 local elderly citizens. Clark says volunteers are needed for both delivering the baskets as well as packaging them.

“The things to do, one is assemble the baskets so kind of like an assembly line, and writing that personalized note and then the other is delivering those baskets. Volunteers can sign up for one hour shifts and those go anytime from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.”

Clark says the biggest need now is for delivery drivers and you can sign up online at perrylutheranhomes.org

For basket packing, which will take place at Eden Acres Campus, people need to be 12-years-old or over and for delivery drivers they must be 16-years-old and over. Also, Clark says they are still in need of baskets.
