The Perry City Council recently approved the alcohol licenses for the Dollar General in Perry at their most recent council meeting.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says originally the Council denied the alcohol licenses due to ongoing fire safety concerns. He adds, since the original denial of the permit things have changed.
“What we were looking at to make that decision was the health and safety aspect of today of what the store is like. So, since they have made an effort to clean up and get things in a better direction, I’m not saying get on track, in a better direction. They did approve the license but at any time if it’s deemed that there is unsafe conditions we can go in and suspend their license to help get them back on track.”
The Perry City Council voted to approve the Class C Beer Permit with Class B Wine Permit and Sunday Sale Privilege for Dollar General.
