The Panora City Council approved the second reading of two ordinances at their most recent regular meeting last Monday. 

The Council approved the second reading of Ordinance 340 and Ordinance 341 that would increase the charge for water and sewer rates each by five-percent. The Council did receive written comments from the public asking not to increase rates but the second readings were passed. 

Also, the Council approved a contract rate increase for residential waste and recyclable materials, set June 18th as the city wide clean-up date, approved the sale of multiple pieces of equipment and held a discussion on dust control on Clay Street which will have further discussion at the next meeting.
