Panorama FFA enjoyed lots of success after they attended the recent state convention in Des Moines.
Advisor Steven Hameister tells Raccoon Valley Radio the highlight was senior Reagan Gibson who claimed first place and a gold rating for her ag sales contest. Riley Gibson received a silver rating for creed speaking, while Keira Simmons also earned a silver rating for her hydroponics presentation for ag in the classroom. Another 13 FFA’ers competed in four contests, which resulted in four silver and one bronze ratings. Hameister describes why they continue to attend and compete at the state convention.
“It just really gives them a good experience and kind of fires up some of the younger ones to do well and see what it’s all about. Kind of a way to cap off some of the older ones, especially the seniors, their careers in the contest by one last who-rah at it. It gives them a lot of comradery as well. They work really hard leading up to that and (it) really kind of shows with the success that they bring home.”
Hameister points out another highlight was recognizing Paul Hansen, Reagan Gibson and Jaden Johnson who received their State Degrees. A total of 16 Panorama FFA’ers attended the convention.
