Greene County and Paton-Churdan were among the schools at Tuesday’s Woodward-Granger Hawks Coed Relays held in Woodward. The Greene County boys were first and P-C fifth in the boys’ five team field while the girls’ team title went to Nodaway Valley with Greene County fourth and P-C sixth among six teams.

Greene County scored 185 points to win the boys’ title with W-G at 172. Glidden-Ralston had 96, followed by West Central Valley with 63, and 32 for Paton-Churdan. NV had 162 points on the girls’ side with W-G at 105, WCV 103, Greene County 80, G-R 65, and 31 for P-C.

The Rockets had one event victory on the night and that was from Danielle Hoyle in the shot put for girls at 37′ 6″. Greene County’s Brooklynn Olson was second at 35′ 3″. They traded places in the discus throw with Olson first at 115′ 4-1/2″ and Hoyle second at 107′ 5″.  Other first place finishes for the Greene County girls came from Katrina Heupel in the 400 meter dash at 1:04.88, and the 4 x 400 meter relay in 4:32.18. The Rams were without top performer Brianna Osterson.

The boys from Greene County had 185 points to W-G’s 172. Coach Chad Morton’s team won 13 of the 19 events. Individuals winning were Logan Woodruff in the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs, Jackson Morton in the 110 meter high hurdles and 400 meter low hurdles, Bryce Stalder in the long jump, Nathan Black in the high jump, Josh Ewalt in the discus throw, Ethan Larsen in the 800, and the 4 x 100, 4 x 200, sprint medley, and shuttle hurdle relays.
