The Governor’s Scholar recipients were recently announced with multiple high school students in Dallas County bringing home honors. 

The recognition, which first began in 2003, was presented by the Iowa Governor’s Office, Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Farm Bureau. Among the 424 seniors that were honored, those in western Dallas County include Phillip Annear for Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Alex Thomas and Grant Harbaugh for Dallas Center-Grimes and Kennedy Tunink for Perry. The honorees were selected by their high schools as the top academic achievers. Students will receive a recognition plaque and certificate.
