As the 89th Iowa General Assembly continues to move towards its final days, a first year representative reflects on his first time in the legislature.
This is the first time House Representative for District 19 Carter Nordman has participated in the session since winning election last November. Nordman says he is proud and honored to serve his constituents.
“It has been a very rewarding experience especially being able to sit down and chat with so many of my constituents obviously in a little different way this year being that most of it’s been virtual through email or Zoom or phone call. It’s been a tremendous honor and I’m excited about some of the things that we’ve done and are still working on.”
Nordman tells Raccoon Valley Radio as the session winds down lawmakers will be focusing heavily on the budget and working between the House and Senate to cut wasteful spending and giving money back to Iowans.
The 89th Iowa General Assembly is expected to end on April 30th.
